Cupping has long been a technique of ancient Chinese Medicine. Cupping is a method of applying a vacuum on the skin. It is used to relieve local congestion out of intercellular spaces, and releases myofasical restrictions to help relax deep muscle. Combining massage with cupping reaches deep into the muscles to promote relaxation, increase circulation and help the colon.
BENEFITS: It enables the Massage Therapist to target a specific zone on the body. Cupping will warm up the muscles in order to better manipulate them during a massage.
WARNING: Cupping may leave temporary marks on the skin but will fade within a few days.
NOTE From Margaret: Try to avoid the neck area. The marks tend to look like hickeys and can be hard to explain.
